Separate from my other services, I offer an SEO Audit. Here’s how it works:
- Phone call with your company (including anyone you want involved such as marketing and web design folks) to discuss your company, brand, offerings, goals, history, obstacles, opportunities, and so on. This ensures that the Audit Recommendations will get you where you want to go.
- Audit- I review all aspects of your websites and search engine positioning and create an Audit Document that contains my findings and recommendations
- Follow-up phone call to go over the Audit Document and answer any questions
Why Get An SEO Audit?
If you want as much search engine traffic as you can get, you need a solid SEO strategy, and you need to make sure you aren’t making any mistakes or missing opportunities. SEO is a complicated process- and understanding where you stand and how you’re doing in each of these areas is the first step to improving your rankings and traffic.
- Keyword research and targeting: Are you targeting the best phrases your customers use to search? Are you missing any opportunities? Do you have short-term and long-term keyword goals?
- Keyword placement on website: Are your keywords placed optimally throughout the website? Do you have multiple websites and blogs, and if so, how are those helping you – are you missing opportunities there?
- Content review: Is the content quality good? Is there anything about it that might hurt rankings? Is there an opportunity for you in video?
- Site architecture: Does your website hierarchy and internal linking optimally spread link authority throughout the site, maximizing your search engine rankings? Or is it holding you back? Do you have too many links per page?
- Technology: Is your website easy for search engines like Google to crawl (download and read) and analyze? Or are you using website technologies that block Google and diminish your rankings? Do you have a canonicalization problem, which divides and reduces your site’s authority ? Have you implemented redirects from old pages or have you lost authority and rankings by not doing so? Do your pages load fast enough or are they so slow that Google has downgraded you?
- Authority from other websites: Do enough other websites link to you to give you the authority you need to rank highly?
- Meta information: Are you using meta info in HTML properly? How does this affect your listing in search rankings? Does that listing look attractive?
- Analytics: Are your website analytics giving you the information you need? Are they measuring the goals you care about? What do they say about your search engine results?
- Competition: How does all this stack up against your competition? How are they doing in search engines for the keywords you care about? What do you need in order to reach or to beat them?

Why Get An SEO Audit Before Hiring An SEO Company
An audit is a great first step to make sure that you’ve mapped out your route to success before you engage any company to do the work. If you haven’t hired an SEO company before, just ask anybody – the level of quality out there is all over the place, and it’s a field with many specialties. Not every company or SEO consultant can do it all. Some are super cheap but don’t deliver quality results. You want to make sure the company you hire can fix the problems your website has and shore up the specific deficiencies you have right now.
If you work with me on an SEO Site Audit, I can help you clarify what parts of your SEO need the most work, and I also know a lot of people in the industry- I’ve spoken at conferences with other speakers- I know who has the best reputations and who’s good at specific aspects of SEO, so I can give you great referrals as needed. Contact me and we’ll get started!
